IRC
IRC is another way to get support maybe even faster and more interactively. Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet text messaging, mainly centered about group communication in discussion forums, called channels.
Cactus and the Einstein Toolkit at the moment share one such channel for
discussions among developers: #cactus on
irc.oftc.net, the IRC server of the
Open and Free Technology Community
(OFTC). Chat logs and statistics
are available.
IRC Clients are available for virtually every operating system.
Weekly phone calls
The Einstein Toolkit holds a weekly, public phone call to discuss various items coming up while developing, using and releasing the toolkit. Everyone is invited to join, may it only be to listen in. The scheduled time for this phone call is 10am (central US time) every Monday. Instructions how to dial in are given in the following:
Dial-in Instructions
Each participant of the teleconference will call (+1) 225-578-4942 ((+1) 866-573-0359 toll free from inside the USA).
They will hear:
Welcome to Voice Plus Conferencing.
Please enter your Conference ID.
Press the # key when complete.
Participants will press 118682# for Conference Line one.
They will hear:
Welcome to Voice Plus Conferencing.
For conference chairperson services, press the # key.
All other participants please wait.
“All other participants” will wait on the line until the chairperson has ‘entered’ the teleconference.
EVO
While the main sound channel will be the regular conference phone line, EVO might be used if it is useful to share additional material, e.g. slides/video/screen sharing during a presentation. The title of the EVO meeting is Einstein Toolkit weekly.
